About Lorien Whyte

Lorien Whyte is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate law. Lorien has dedicated her entire legal career to appellate law and advanced litigation support. She began her career at the Fourth Court of Appeals. She has over 6 years’ experience working with the justices at the Court—including a year as Chief Justice Sandee Bryan Marion’s Briefing Attorney, and more than 5 years as the Court’s Staff Attorney in charge of all mandamus proceedings.

Lorien left the Court in 2013 when she was hired as a partner by the law firm of Brin & Brin, PC to head up the firm’s appellate section. Throughout her career at the Court and in private practice, Lorien has handled appeals throughout the state of Texas, including permissive appeals, mandamus proceedings, and civil appeals. Due to her extensive experience with mandamus proceedings, she has developed a unique skillset in that area. She also regularly provides advanced litigation support to trial lawyers.
